5 COMMON VIDEOGRAPHY QUESTIONS CLIENTS ASK ME
For over 10 years, I work as a professional videographer. Part of the job is learning how to solve new problems on every new project. However, a few “common” problems always come up.
“Can you fly a drone? Can we do paid ads? Do I look fat…”
I hear it over and over again.
So, to celebrate my first YouTube vlog, I’m making a list. A list that covers the most common questions I get asked by client in that first meeting. When asking yourself “what kind of video should I make?” I always tell clients that when you don’t know what to say, list something in your profession. They’re easy to plan. You don’t need much production value. And they show potential customers your professional knowledge.
Enjoy my first video vlog.
5 common questions I get asked by clients.
1. CAN YOU MAKE ME NOT LOOK FAT?
I get this all the time, especially from men. Don’t be ashamed. We all want to look good in front of the camera. Not looking good on camera has more to do with bad angles and bad lighting than whether you look good or not. We will find the angles that make you shine.
2. HOW DOES DRONING WORK? CAN YOU LEGALLY DO IT?
Yes. I’m a licensed and insured pilot in Canada. You’ve got to be careful, though. If you’re droning in the wrong area and not registered, you could face fines of up to $15,000. Also, if you are not insured and get into an accident, who knows what the cost could be? Definitely worth it to get a pro who knows the laws and is insured.
3. CAN YOU DO PAID ADS? I DON’T WANT TO JUST DO ORGANIC.
Yes, we can. Much of my work is used in paid ads. Paid ads are a tool to have in your marketing strategy, especially if you need immediate leads. The best strategy is one that balances paid ads and organic, providing a foundation for long-term growth.
4. CAN YOU SELL US THE RAW FOOTAGE?
Yes. Before we start a project, we outline its terms. Is this project about getting finished, finalized work that’s completely edited, or is it about getting raw footage so that your own internal teams can then edit and do with it what they will or both? All of this will be discussed before we start shooting, including the cost of obtaining the raw footage.
5. CAN YOU JUST MAKE AN AI COPY OF ME? I DON’T WANT TO BE ON CAMERA
No… I get it. Being on camera is tough. But the point of being on camera is to build brand trust. That trust is destroyed when you rely on AI’s artificiality. So if you want to use AI to produce artificial footage, that’s your prerogative, but we don’t do that at Roy Productions.
